The knight in gleaming armor

Really loved the color choices for this armor, and the contrast of highlight and shadows are spot-on! Great job.

Clown Avatar

I wonder why it got such a small score! This piece is fantastic. I love the smiles on his eyes, and his nose bleeding his makeup. really creative and surreal. Although you missed a very obvious anatomy mistake, the distance between an eye and another one is of a third eye. Still, pretty cool piece!

Paintbrush cranes

I'm just going to give a plain old "Wow" for this one, truly impressive. Although the texture of the water doesn't look too realistic, it looks like the background didn't get the same treatment as your birds, that look just marvelous. Anyway, wonderful piece.

CAME TO SAVE THE PRINCESS ZELDA
I like a lot your choice of colors, but you could have done a better texture and a lot more contrast on the hair, it doesn't look like a hair much. Also the sword could have some highlights too, it looks like it's made of charcoal or something. Still, I really like this piece.

Shymouse responds:

Yeah I completely messed up the sword and hair imo! Thanks though, I'll probably work harder next time, as this was kinda rush anyway.

Goomba!

I love the texture on this Goomba, it looks like a rock statue of it. Plus, great choice of colors, too! Although the sel-out seems a bit confusing, watch out for this on your next pixel-arts!

Shymouse responds:

thank you!

spidenom

Spidey and Venom look absolutely great, but it seems that you got seriously lazy while doing the background, specially the mirrored one. Plus, one of Spider-Man's eyes look slightly smaller than the other one. Still, it's a pretty good piece.

einharjar responds:

yeah..the work is still not finish...but yeah this piece is also intended to be unfinished so that you can tell the difference that its an original artwork built from scratch....

Oh my goooddddd <3

Oh my god the colors of this piece <3
Just plain awesome, you're very careful and good with small details, which is kind of the essence of pixel-art. She has a nice and cute design as well!

pipsnip is quite right.

This isn't really pixel-art. As you said yourself, a pixel-art is a work made pixel-per-pixel. That means you drew the piece pixel-per-pixel, carefully, and detailed, this is the essence of pixel-art.
You just dragged a lot of lines and filled them with the Paint Bucket tool, this is not pixel-art, this is vectorial art done in MSPaint, really. And it's not a pleasant one to look at. While you put a lot of detail and effort in his guns, and some in his face, the rest of the pixel-art looks rather sloppy, rushed, and, well, doodle-y :/

RamboFox responds:

But that's the thing - I did use the pen tool not the line tool, so your argument is void.

"...and, well, doodle-y" - And that proves that I used the pen tool.

Now, let's see you draw a character in paint, 600 pixels tall.

Wow!

Great clothing folds and hair shading! And great choice of colors too. This is very illustrative and clean, and good-looking c:

Cool piece!

Realistic and nice-looking! But it's kind of sharp, you should have applied some anti-alias on it, it'd look perfect. Also, the trees don't look very pixelated, remember, pixel-art is the art of small details. More details = Better!
